Black Jeans: How to wear them every day of the week

Black jeans are a basic item from my closet that I built entire outfits around, knowing that no colors will clash, and it will make me look put together while also giving a casual feel. Black jeans also elongate the legs and creates a slimming effect. Just as classic as blue jeans but great for playing up make-up, accesssories and your favorite pair of shoes!

The hiatus..and I'm back

Hi Everyone,

Sorry for being on hiatus for so long, first a family member had a health scare( that thankfully did not turn out to be anything major). Then it was a long drive back to college. But I'm back!

I want to share this really cool site: rehashclothes.com. It lets you swap clothes with other women across North America and a few other countries! I think it's a great way to be fashionably economically Green :)

For this post, it's all about resort wear or in my life as a poor college student road trip wear. I don't think I will be flying anywhere soon. Unless I win the lottery or something. But I am hoping to go on a road trip with friends and see a few of America's amazing national parks.

I'm obsessed with cuffs. They're like the new statement necklaces, but cost less and can spice up any outfit. Plus, you don't have to worry about whether your earrings match. Holiday Fashion (the economic version)

As much as I love gazing at real pearl jewelry and designer frocks, my wallet does not have the superwoman ability to actually purchase all that. So with the holidays coming up, I know I will be attending a mix of holiday parties, internship/networking events, and the odd Christmas birthday celebrations. I want to look put together and creative but also without touching my tuition savings.

So here's my ideas for lovely Holiday outfits with items under $50. (With the high unemployment rate, shopping for more expensive items makes me feel guilty anyways). I have resolved to donate money saved from NOT buying anything more than $50 everytime someone comments on my outfits for the month of December.

Asian style: street style

Having lived in Asia for about roughly half of my life, I've been inspired and influenced by Asian fashion. If I had to pick one important lesson I've learned from Asian women, it has to be the art of layering. Many of my Japanese, and Korean friends have this amazing ability to layer all prints and colors and look effortlessly fablous. Here's some street style photos I found:

My colours

I'm decided to share my colour palette with everyone. First,introducing my neutrals: BLACK and GREY.

Black is a very versatile colour that any girl can play up with bright jewel tones or keep it low key with cream, white and subtle metallics. Black can come across as elegant, calm, mysterious, casual and figure flattering. It also serves as an excellent base to complement any bright coloured accessories(think scarves,shoes, rings, statement necklaces, handbags). One of the reasons I personally am in love with black is that it complements my make-up that focuses on my berry lipstick, but also leaves a lot of freedom to experiment with my accent colour pieces, whether that is gold studded jackets or a bright ethnic print scarf. Wearing black is also a good choice if you want to play up a certain belt or piece of jewellery.

Grey is a great alternative to black. It projects subtle chic, and can easily be paired with other colours to create many fashionable outfits. For me, I find that darker shades of grey work well with my dark hair and naturally berry coloured lips.
I believe that any girl can wear grey, but different skin tones and colour preferences means that maybe a bit of experimentation is in order to find the perfect shade for you. Grey is always "in" and can be used to dress up formally or go for a casual look with denim.

When in doubt about how much skin to reveal, esp. as the weather gets warmer, taking a photo of yourself and then ask "what would I think if my employee came in like that? If it passes your test, then chances are you are fine!
